NATIONAL VEGETARIAN WEEK: Four Places you need to visit in the North-East this week!

First of all, lettuce start off with us saying HAPPY NATIONAL VEGETARIAN WEEK! (you see what we did there? Lettuce? Let Us?)

We have went on a hunt to find the top five alternative restaurants in the UK that serve the best vegetarian food. Now we haven’t been to all of them but we can already tell that they’ll be good.

1)Coffin Club Bar & Grill

We thought that we would start with a location that we have actually been too. They serve the most heavenly vegetarian burgers that we have ever tasted.

The Colosseum Rex burger contains a handmade onion bhaji patty, mango chutney, Monterey jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a garlic and herb dressing all served in a toasted bun.

2) The Dead Rabbit, Sunderland

The Dead Rabbit has recently opened in the heart of Sunderland just a short walk down from the Empire Theatre. From Yorkshire Pudding Wraps for under £4 to cheese and onion paninis, they will cover anything for vegetarians at a very reasonable price.

3) Blackfriars, Newcastle

This restaurant is more medieval but we could not leave it out. With a variety of veggie options from Gnocchi of spring onion, charred leek puree, black olive priced at £12 to Broad bean & watercress risotto, vegetarian ‘Parmesan’ crisp priced at £8, this will certainly be an experience that you won’t forget.

4) Trillians Rock Bar, Newcastle

This bar certainly stands out from the rest. Trillians Rock Bar, holds gigs on the evenings from Slipknowt to The Fiend, there will be a band to suit everybody’s taste.

The speciality this week is Vegetable Curry but other food items include Tagine, Pasta and burgers.
